Infant Bacterial Therapeutics (IBT) is a Swedish biotech company focused on developing a drug to prevent a serious gut disease in premature babies called necrotizing enterocolitis, or NEC. NEC is a life-threatening condition that affects the intestines of newborns, and there are currently no approved drugs specifically designed to prevent it. IBT's lead product, IBP-9414, contains a bacteria strain called Lactobacillus reuteri and is given to premature infants in neonatal intensive care units.
