The full picture

Nyrstar NV specializes in the extraction, processing, and manufacturing of zinc, lead, and various other base and precious metals, operating across Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States. Its business activities are segmented into Metals Processing and Mining. The company's offerings include zinc in concentrate from its mining operations, as well as a spectrum of refined zinc products such as special high-grade zinc, galvanizing alloys, and die-casting alloys, which are critical for applications in construction, transportation, industrial machinery, communications, electronics, and consumer products. Nyrstar also produces copper, available in both concentrate and cathode forms, which is vital for building construction, electrical and electronic goods, transportation equipment, and industrial machinery. Lead concentrates are another key product, primarily supplied for battery production. Furthermore, the company's portfolio extends to precious metals like gold and silver (in concentrate and dore), alongside specialty metals such as indium and cadmium. A significant byproduct is sulphuric acid, essential for the production of fertilizers, fibers, paints, rubber, plastics, steel, detergents, and medicines. Established in 2007, Nyrstar NV is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.
