Winston Score History

The full picture

Precision Drilling Corporation is a Canadian company that rents out large drilling rigs to oil and gas producers. These rigs are used to drill wells that extract oil and natural gas from the ground. Precision is one of the largest contract drilling companies in Canada and also operates in the United States and the Middle East.

The company makes money by charging oil and gas producers a daily rate to use its rigs and crews, a model called contract drilling. Revenue rises and falls with energy prices, since producers drill more wells when oil and gas prices are high and cut back when prices drop. Precision has invested in automated and high-efficiency rigs, which helps it win contracts from larger producers who want faster, more reliable drilling — but the business remains heavily exposed to the cyclical nature of energy markets, which is its primary ongoing risk.

Growth + cash flow

Precision Drilling Corporation is a rare growth stock that's already generating positive cash flow while growing at 11%. The Winston Score doesn't fully credit this transition from "burner" to "earner."

The Winston Score above measures business quality today. Growth stocks often score lower because they invest in the future rather than maximising current profits. These metrics show what matters most for evaluating that future.
