Winston Score History

The full picture

Rigetti Computing builds quantum computers — machines that use the strange rules of physics to solve certain problems much faster than regular computers. Its main products are quantum processors and cloud-based access to quantum systems, sold to government agencies, research institutions, and large companies exploring early quantum applications. Rigetti is one of a small number of companies in the world building full-stack quantum hardware and software in-house.

The company earns revenue through cloud subscriptions and contracts that let customers run programs on its quantum systems, as well as government research grants. It operates primarily in the United States and United Kingdom and remains a small, pre-profit company — its negative gross margin means it currently costs more to deliver its service than it earns. The biggest risk is that quantum computing is still an early-stage technology, and it is unclear when, or if, Rigetti's systems will be powerful enough to compete with classical computers on commercially valuable tasks.

Revenue accelerating

The Winston Score above measures business quality today. Growth stocks often score lower because they invest in the future rather than maximising current profits. These metrics show what matters most for evaluating that future.
