Winston Score History

The full picture

Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT) is a fund that lets investors own a small piece of many technology companies at once. Instead of picking individual stocks, buyers of VGT get exposure to hundreds of U.S. tech companies — including giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia — that make software, hardware, semiconductors, and IT services. It tracks the MSCI US Investable Market Information Technology 25/50 Index, which covers the broad U.S. technology sector.

VGT makes money by charging a very low annual fee, called an expense ratio, of around 0.10% of assets — meaning investors pay about $1 per year for every $1,000 invested. It is one of the largest technology-focused ETFs in the world, with roughly $139 billion in assets, and is managed by Vanguard, known for its low-cost index investing approach. The main risk is concentration: because the fund is heavily weighted toward a few mega-cap tech stocks, a downturn in those companies can significantly drag down the whole fund.

The Winston Score above measures business quality today. Growth stocks often score lower because they invest in the future rather than maximising current profits. These metrics show what matters most for evaluating that future.
