Winston Score History

The full picture

Micron Technology makes memory chips — the parts inside computers, phones, and servers that store data while a device is running. Its two main products are DRAM (used in PCs, smartphones, and data centers) and NAND flash (used in solid-state drives and USB storage). Micron is one of only three major DRAM makers in the world, alongside Samsung and SK Hynix.

Micron earns money by selling these chips to large customers like Apple, Dell, and cloud computing companies such as Amazon and Microsoft. It operates manufacturing facilities across the US, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore, generating tens of billions in annual revenue. The memory chip industry is highly cyclical — prices can swing sharply based on supply and demand — but growing demand for AI servers, which require large amounts of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), is a significant tailwind Micron is actively working to capture.

The Winston Score above measures business quality today. Growth stocks often score lower because they invest in the future rather than maximising current profits. These metrics show what matters most for evaluating that future.
