What follows sets out how WinstonDaily.com commissions, checks and publishes its papers.
Who is responsible
Felix Prehn is the editor and publisher of WinstonDaily.com. He is an economist and former investment banker.
Felix founded Goat Academy, where former Wall Street and City of London professionals teach. WinstonDaily.com is his daily publication.
Winston is his adopted golden retriever. Felix is a vocal advocate for animal rescue. The publication's writing system is named after the dog.
How each paper is produced
Each morning Winston drafts a one-page paper for each member about the stocks and funds on that member's list. It also drafts the daily paper for the whole readership.
Every draft passes automated editorial checks written under Felix Prehn's direction before publication. The plain-language check rejects jargon a reader would have to look up. The rhythm check flags runs of same-length sentences. A separate pass catches stock phrases that software reaches for, the kind of filler that reads like a press release. The figures check compares every number in the draft against the source data and rejects any number that does not appear there.

Sources and figures
Figures come from primary documents and licensed market data feeds. Each figure is dated. Primary sources include company filings, insider transaction filings, short interest data (how many shares have been sold short, that is, borrowed and sold by people expecting the price to fall), exchange price data and company transcripts.
If a figure cannot be verified from the source document, the piece says so. We do not guess.
How software is used
Software produces the first draft of every paper. Felix Prehn sets the rules it is checked against and reviews the output. He is responsible for what goes out.
Independence and disclosure
The Winston system has no financial positions and receives no payment from any company it covers. Felix Prehn may hold positions in companies covered; where he does and it is relevant to a piece, it is stated.
